Bermudez says, “In folklore and modern horror storytelling, mimics are usually portrayed as dangerous entities that imitate human voices, behaviors, or appearances to lure people closer.” Mimic is a 1997 American science-fiction horror film directed by Guillermo del Toro in his English-language film debut, written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins, and based on Donald A. Wollheim 's short story of the same name. MIMIC-III is an older version of MIMIC. It contains an older group of patients (ending in 2012), and a subset of the ICU and hospital information available in MIMIC-IV.
