Understanding the Context
The meaning of SWEET is being, inducing, or marked by the one of the five basic taste sensations that is usually pleasing to the taste and typically induced by sugars (as sucrose or glucose). The Sweet adopted the rich vocal harmony style of the Hollies, with distorted guitars and a heavy rhythm section. This fusion of pop and hard rock would remain a central trademark of Sweet's music and prefigured the glam metal of a few years later. Sweet performing "Fox On The Run" on 45 recorded at the Granada Studios in Manchester in 1975.
